I'm offering today a gorgeous Vintage 1961 Horsman baby doll with poseable vinyl arms and legs.  She is vinyl with soft body which has been completely taken apart and restored.  Wearing designer dress with custom made cotton crochet booties.  She is absolutely adorable.
I will start at the top of her head and work my way down so as not to omit anything in my description.  Starting at the top of her head, she has pale blond hair which is cut into a short baby cut which frames that adorable face.  She has bangs which come down to her eyebrows and on each side of her face, there are curls which flow down the sides.  She is wearing a custom made hair band with pastel baby pink satin ribbon.  I designed this precious hair bow to match her adorable designer dress which has a kitty cat on the front and pastel polka dotted tulle tutu.   As you go down to her face, she has single brown line for eyebrows.  She has beautiful blue open/close sleep eyes which are accented with long original eyelashes.  Oh so sweet and precious!  She has a dainty little nose with open nostrils for realism which flows down to her rose bud shape lips. Her lips are painted pastel pink with closed mouth.  Her chubby baby cheeks have beautiful pink coloring.  The back of her neck is hallmarked:  "Horsman Dolls, Inc., 1961.
Her head, arms and legs are vinyl with her body being that of cloth.  As I mentioned above, I completely took this vintage baby doll and removed all the old stuffing and restored the body.  All the horrible dirty stuffing was removed.  I have a special solution I use to soak these dolls in which removes almost all stains and definitely all the dirt.  I soak them for a couple days.  Then she is rinsed and left to soak for another day in a conditioning solution.   The body is then hung outside on a line and dries for several days in the fresh air.  While the body is being cleaned, I take her head and remove all the stuffing in the head and soak her head and put my softening and shine solution on her hair.  By the time the body is dried, her head is usually ready too.   When I re-stuff the body, I try not to put too much filler in so her body feels like a real baby.  The solution I use completely sanitizes the doll's body.
As most of you who follow me know, I pick their outfits based upon the way their faces look and what they speak to my heart.  With this precious face, I knew she needed to be in pink.  As I'm sure you can tell by my dolls, pink is my favorite color and with the beautiful coloring on this dolls face, she just had to be in something pink.  This is a designer dress I chose with pastel baby pink cotton bodice with ruffled sleeves.  The bodice on the dress has a Kitty cat's face with embroidered eyes and whimsical whiskers.  The Kitty cat ears actually stick up and have pink embroidered threads to define the inner ear details.  The precious attached tutu is done in pale, pale pink, pale pink and mint green polka dot tulle netting which has been ruffled and gathered tightly.  Under the top layer of tutu, is another layer of soft tulle netting with gathered ruffles with the same colors only no polka dots on it.  Under the dress, I put a pale pink cotton onesie with short sleeves.  I didn't want the body to show through the gathered sleeves on the dress, so I thought she needed another layer to her outfit.  The onesie has metal snaps in the crotch area for easy wearing and removal.  Over the pink onesie, she is wearing pastel pink cotton pants which come down to her knee area.  I had these cotton crochet pink booties made for her with delicate pink rosette on top of each booty.  I added pink satin ribbon to keep them securely on the dolls feet and tied delicate bows around the ankles to finish off the look.  She is so, so precious.  She will be coming to her new home with her very own floppy baby lamb.  The baby lamb has pellets in it which allows it to snuggle against her body or arms.  Oh so sweet!
My dolls are not played with by children who come and visit; I know that sounds mean, but sometimes they play too rough.  My dolls are kept in a doll room specifically for them and are displayed for everyone to enjoy.  All my dolls are truly loved and cared for as though they were my children.  Their clothes are either original to the doll, made by me, or I've tried finding doll clothing from the same era as the doll or find clothing which match the personality of the doll.  We do not smoke and I try very hard to keep a tidy clean home free of dust and odor.  My dolls are clean and most of the time look as though they did when they were sold new.   Depending on how old they are, I do try to be honest in detailing if some of the dolls have bruises, missing toes or fingers or other issues, but that doesn't mean they aren't worth having; for each one is like children.....they are all beautiful in their mothers eyes.  If I've missed something it would never be intentional.
SIZE:
This is a large size Vintage Horsman doll measuring approximately 20" tall. Her floppy baby lamb measures approximately 8" tall.
CONDITION:
She is vintage, but her body has been completely restored.  All the nasty, dirty stuffing was removed and soaked in a disinfecting solution which allows the fabric to look new once more.   She looks like a brand new doll with no smells or odors.  Her precious designer dress is new and never been worn by another doll.  Her baby booties are custom made for this dolly and look oh so sweet.  She has all her fingers and toes and her eyes open/close freely.  She has her original eyelashes to each eye.  She has been sanitized and cleaned to new state again.  We are an older couple and are Covid free.  We have been home bound since March 2020 and remain away from others.  The photos really tell the story about this doll.  She is a beautiful doll and one of a kind.  Please view complete set of photos for thorough description.  I hope you can take a few minutes to look at my other dolls.  God bless you.  Connie
