Offered for sale very rare end of WWI medal.
The medal was struck at the Hauptmünze in Munich in 1918 in 14,000 examples to commemorate the fiftieth anniversary of the wedding of the King Ludvig and Queen Maria Teresia
was intended to be awarded to the King’s Regiments at Christmas that year.
In the event, the end of World War I and the November Revolution prevented this.
The medal was subsequently awarded unofficially between 1921 and 1935 by the Bavarian Royal Household.
