Gimbal Bearing Replacement
Insert the rod into the gimbal bearing.
Once it's in there, we can place the plate.
Once you are getting close to being snug, put the center rod in till it's tight.
Use a large adjustable wrench and just start turning this around and around. And then it will start going easy. Remove the tool. The gimbal bearing is off.
Gimbal Bearing Installation
Once you get it started just take your tool out and make sure it is going and relatively straight if it’s not it’s gonna be a lot harder.
Installing a new bearing requires a
quality special tool
. It is very important that the replacement bearing is driven all the way in.
Engine Alignment
TIP:
If the engine was so misaligned that you are unable to insert the alignment tool, use a one inch diameter pipe to help determine which direction to move your engine.
The alignment tool will be tilted downward because the engine is raised too high. For a realignment you need to adjust the engine mounts to move the engine up or down until the alignment tool fits in and out of the coupler very easily with just two or three fingers. If the alignment tool is a tight fit, the engine is still misaligned.
