    Lovelock is a 3000 person town that is 90 miles Northeast of Reno. The La’ Belle and Monterey Bar brothels were inside the city. The Roadhouse was a couple miles outside of the city. The La' Belle was by far the most impressive of the three. The other two houses were not well maintained. The Roadhouse closed near 1970 after Pershing County passed a law restricting where brothels could be located. The other two brothels closed many years later. The owner and madam of La’ Belle was an elegant lady named Irene York. Her nephew said she would have approved of these chips as long as they had a rose on them. She loved roses.
