My customers
have won many races. They have placed 1st, 2nd, 3rd place, best of show and
most creative. This gives you more chances to win something in different categories.
As far as I
know, nobody else makes "hollow pine car bodies." Just the car body has an average weight is 1.07 ounces (without weights, wheels, axles, etc.). I
make them this way so I can put the most lead weight right in front of the rear
axle (the "sweet-spot" for competitive racing).
The lead weight
is inside the car. I cast my own weights to make them "car-specific." Doing it this way makes the cars safe to handle for children and adults. No
hands big or small will touch any lead. Putting the weight inside the car makes
them smooth on the outside and more aerodynamic. This also enables me to custom paint and detail the car.
All cars weigh
under 5 ounces to allow for scale variations.
These cars are
pretuned.
All axle heads
are beveled and axles are polished using up to 3000 grit.
My Lego cars ride on 4-wheels.
There is a “built-in" option (holes already drilled if “you" choose to do this) to make the car a 3-wheel rail-rider.
I haven't
applied any graphite on the wheels. You must do that. Everyone has their own
favorite lube. Whatever you use, put lots of it on the inside of the axle and
axle housing (inside the wheels). Keep spinning and using lube until wheels
spin smooth and fast.
I use a small
toothpick size paint brush and a tray to scoop it in the wheel and spin with my fingers.
Don't roll the
car on the floor or carpet it will just pick up debris.
All my cars run
on official B.S.A. wheels and axles.
