Description
You are bidding on a WW2 German OSTVOLK Medal 2nd Class . See pictures for details and grading on this original resistance medal from WW2. This medal was awarded to the occupied countries of Germany, whose military members sided and joined the Nazis, to fight against the Soviet Union. This medal was worn on a tunic, which allowed the wearer, as member fighting for Germany to win and wear other German decorations. Unfortunately for the recipient of this medal, they were captured in July 1944 by the Soviet forces near Ventspils, Latvia.Very rare to find a German medal, especially with history for under USD before shipping and handling! Also Very rare and scarce to have the whole backtrail on this sort of item. In dug condition with soil, items and charring all part of what is shipped. There are no Nazi symbols or heraldry on the Ostvolk and the DDR in fact allowed members to wear their Ostvolk in the 1957 restructuring, unchanged as the centre is an intricate flower design. This listing folly complies with eBay posting rules.
