    Description

For sale is an original 1939 Iron Cross made in the early 1960's by the German jeweler Assman.  Assman produced premium quality badges and medals during and after WWII.  This one was made in the traditional 3 piece frame and core manner and the beading looks like it still has the frosted effect with a highly polished silver (?) frame.  This is an original German de-Nazified cross to be worn by veterans without the swastica and is not a modern one piece cast copy as is common today.  The iron or steel core is magnetic like the original 1939 1st Class awardAlthough it is not marked with the Assman A, I tagged it years ago as that maker after researching German reference books. Also, the pearl-like frosting on the reverse and on the frame heading matches a couple of Assman badges in my collection of 1939 Assault badges and EK's.
